There have been only a couple days of Olympics men’s handball competition action to date, but the drama is already starting to get amplified a ton. You can almost feel the teams realizing what they have to do to better position themselves in their respective groups. Now they’ll be able to get back on the court as Olympics men’s handball will be in action once again on Thursday, August 11 for Day 6 of Rio 2016. All 12 handball teams will be in action and there are some fascinating matchups.
Starting off the day at 8:30 a.m. ET will be Qatar and Tunisia doing battle. Tunisia is still looking for their first win of the competition, but may have a hard time finding it against a dark horse like Qatar. That match will be followed by Poland and Egypt squaring off. This is a matchup that, despite records and standings, could be anyone’s to win.
In the heart of Day 6 will be Denmark and Croatia going to war on the court in a big matchup. While not at the same level in regards to wins at the Olympics, this could be a huge matchup for the athletes and everyone watching at home. Brazil vs Germany will be up next on the court in a matchup where the latter is looking to remain in control of Group B.
The final two matches of the night will feature Slovenia taking on Sweden and France doing battle with Argentina. Both of these matchups feature teams atop their groups going up against teams with no points at the bottom. That’s the beauty of Olympics men’s handball, though, as literally anything can happen.
