Here are all the medal results from Olympic swimming on August 11th.

After dominating just about every swimming event thus far, Michael Phelps was back at it again on Thursday night. On the night before the event, Phelps was the fastest in the semifinals for the 200 meter individual medley, which is his specialty. On Thursday night, he saved his best for the final 100 meters and put on a show in Rio.

The rest of the swimmers stayed for Phelps during the first 100 meters in the butterfly and backstroke. Phelps put them away in the final 100 meters of the medley. He ended his run with a dominant freestyle and paced the competition. With the win, Phelps added his 22nd gold medal and the 26th medal of his career overall.

As for the rest of the swimmers in the individual medley, Kosuke Hagino would bring home silver while Wang Shun took the bronze. Ryan Lochte was one of the favorites in the event to medal but that did not happen. He would finish fifth and would miss out on bronze by two spots.

Phelps wasn’t the only American to bring home gold for the men on Thursday night. In the 200 meter backstroke, Ryan Murphy would bring home the gold with a time of 1:53:62. It was yet another dominant performance from an American.

The women’s swimming events had two notable medal events as well on Thursday. In the women’s 200 meter breaststroke, gold would go to Japan’s Rie Kaneto. Yulia Efimova would take silver and Shi Jinglin would take bronze. That wasn’t the women’s event people were left talking about.

In the women’s 100 meter freestyle a rare occurrence took place. American swimmer Simone Manuel and Canada’s Penny Oleksiak would tie with a record time of 52.70. With a remarkable dead heat taking place, both competitors would receive gold medals. Both swimmers were stunned at the happening and immediately embraced each other after the race. To tie and finish with a record time is a swimming moment that won’t be forgotten.
