Simone Biles wins Gold in Individual All-Around: Twitter reacts

Simone Biles added another Gold medal to her collection, proving that she is the greatest gymnast of all time.

USA’s female gymnastics team may be a well-oiled machine, hence the nickname Final Five, but Simone Biles is undoubtedly at the heart of it all. She is the engine behind the American gymnastics program, and she is the one who elevates the game of Aly Raisman, who won Silver behind her.

While the Final Five already picked up a Gold medal in the team competition, the Individual All-Around event gave Biles a chance to shine, and she did just that with a final score of 62.198 through four rotations. Her final floor routine was the icing on the cake, and Twitter was astounded by her:

Simone Biles could retire today and her legacy as an Olympian would already be set in stone. She has accomplished everything on the grand stage, and she will be remembered as the greatest gymnast of all time. Her athleticism is simply off the charts.

Given that gymnastics is always shown on a tape delay on NBC, Biles won’t have the same mainstream appeal that Michael Phelps gets, but she should be regarded as the best in her field all the same. It remains to be seen whether she will compete in Tokyo, but if she doesn’t, people should cherish every last moment of her in these Games.
