Trailer for new GoldenEye: Source game is released (Video)

GoldenEye 007 is arguably one of the greatest first person shooting games of all time and with this new mod, we’ll be able to play it all over again.

When GoldenEye 007 first came out on the Nintendo 64 back in 1997, it took the video game scene by storm. The single player mode has some of the best missions, great gameplay and memorable maps. It’s also one of the few games that was able to really capture that local multiplayer feel with its split-screen multiplayer mode. Playing this with your friends was an absolute blast.

Now, it looks like a brand-new mod for the game has been developed that focuses on the multiplayer aspect of the game called GoldenEye: Source. Best of all, it will be using the source graphics engine, which is the engine that was used to develop a variety of other games, such as Counter-Strike: Source, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Team Fortress 2. Check out the reveal trailer below.

GoldenEye: Source will look to deliver the same gameplay we grew up to play and love, but only better. It will run a lot smoother with the new graphics engine, including overhauled visuals and improved controls, it will include over 25 playable maps, which adds a huge variety when it comes to choosing which one you want to play next, and along with those maps, you’ll be able to choose from 10 game modes. Overall, it will deliver a refined gaming experience. Check out the website for the official game if you want more information.

GoldenEye: Source will launch on Friday, August 12, and you can preload right now.
