Following a rather hungover international summer tour, Leicester return to England to begin the defense their improbable title. Though some of the names have changed — most notably, N’Golo Kante, who left for the bluer pastures of Chelsea — the core remains, with midfielder Riyad Mahrez and target man Jamie Vardy the main men once more. With manager Claudio Ranieri having just signed a contract extension to keep him at King Power Stadium through 2020, Leicester figure to start this season off on the right foot, or the left -– whichever gets the job done, as was the theme last year.

Hull, meanwhile, will be hoping the Leicester hangover continues. The Tigers earned promotion last season by way of the Championship playoffs, but after former manager Steve Bruce quit due to a lack of spending and several key players suffered long term injuries in preseason, things are not looking great, despite a talented squad. Former Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has great vision and a magnificent touch with his right foot, and Abel Hernandez showed Vardy-esque goalscoring ability last season, bagging 22 in all competitions. Still, under the circumstances, Hull would do well to scrounge a point from this fixture.
