Michael Phelps vs. Chad le Clos in the 200m butterfly was not much of a contest, but their claymation fight is amazing.

Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian in the history of the Summer Games. Since finishing fifth in the 200m butterfly in his Olympics debut, Phelps has owned the event, except for one hiccup. That hiccup came during the 2012 London Olympics when he was beaten by South African swimmer, Chad le Clos.

During the 2016 Olympics, the rivalry between Phelps and le Clos was put on full display. Prior to the two swimmers jumping in the pool for the semifinal heat of the 200m butterfly, le Clos was caught on camera dancing in front of Phelps. The dance was the birth of Phelps’ mad face, which has become a very popular meme.

After both men qualified for the final in the event, Phelps destroyed le Clos. While Phelps took home another gold medal, le Clos did not even make it to the podium, finishing fourth overall. In fact, the battle was so lopsided, that someone decided to recreate it as a fight using claymation.

The video is golden, just like Phelps was in the 200m butterfly. The video is a spoof of the UFC fight between Connor McGregor when he knocked out Jose Also. The commentary from Joe Rogan is the same from that fight to make for an epic spoof.
