Olympics fencing continues on Friday after a long day of competition on Wednesday with the women’s individual foil tournament as well as the men’s individual sabre event. Team USA’s Daryl Homer won silver in the men’s individual sabre event.
Thursday’s Olympics fencing marked the beginning of the team events, starting with the women’s team epee event. Team USA was represented by Courtney Hurley, Kelley Hurley, and Katharine Holmes. The Team USA women faced off against South Korea in the fifth place bout and won. This is the closest that the women have been to a medal so far.
