2016 Olympics men’s basketball results from the three Group B games that were played on Thursday, August 11 for Day 6 of the Games

Watching the 2016 Rio Olympics men’s basketball competition to date has been riveting thus far. Not only are many of the best players in the world taking part, but it’s also been high drama. Teams have played above their aheads, beneath themselves, and in-between to this point. The results have been fantastic games that anyone who loves basketball can enjoy. Lucky for fans, that trend continued on Thursday, August 11 with three games out of Group B in Olympics men’s basketball.

The first matchup of the day featured Brazil and Croatia going head-to-head in an anticipated matchups. Both teams earned big upsets previously over Spain, but clashed to try and get a second win against one another. Thanks to huge performances from Dario Saric and Bojan Bogdanovic, though, Croatia was able to pull through. Now they are in a great position with two wins in three games. Contrarily, Brazil now has two losses with the host nation looking up against it.

Next up on the docket on the hardwood was a matchup between Nigeria and Spain. The latter team, despite being one of the favorites to medal, entered looking for their first win. Despite also being 0-2 in Rio, Nigeria put up more of a fight than expected. However, the talent of Spain proved to be too much. They earned the 96-87 victory on Thursday to finally get on the board and move up the Group B standings.

Finishing up the day in hoops action was Lithuania taking on Argentina. Lithuania entered 2-0 in the tournament, but also looking for more consistency against a good opponent. Luckily, they found their rhythm on Thursday night. Lithuania secured the 81-73 victory to move to 3-0 at Rio 2016. With that, the Rio Olympics men’s basketball competition is hitting its stride in a big way.
