2016 Olympics men’s handball results from the matches taking place on Thursday, August 11 for Day 6 of the Games

Even if it’s not your forte, there are several things you can’t deny about Olympics men’s handball. It’s one of the fastest events in the Games, but also one that takes just as much skill and power to succeed. Thus, it wouldn’t have been difficult to predict that the 2016 Rio Olympics men’s handball action would be hugely exciting. And with the men heading back to the court for another round of games on Thursday, it was time to buckle in.

Qatar and Tunisia squared off to start the day in handball. This was a matchup with both teams needing something good to happen. Qatar fought and Tunisia crawled, but neither was able to make any leeway as the match finished at 25-25 draw. Then came another curious matchup pitting Poland against Egypt. As excpected, the heavily favored Poland came in, took care of business relatively comfortably, and went on their way.

Next up, the always-dangerous Denmark team had a meeting with Croatia. Though Denmark has some of the best players in the world, they couldn’t handle their opponents on this day. Croatia picked up the 27-24 victory and are now tied with Denmark in the group standings. Soon after, Brazil and Germany took the stage for an all-time classic. Germany looked to be in control from the very start, but a wild crowd helped fuel Brazil. They came back from what seemed like a critically increasing deficit to pick up an improbable, yet great, win.

Finally the next-to-last fixture of the day saw France take it to Argentina. France might just have what it takes to make noise in the knockout stages, but anything can still happen. In the final match of the day, Slovenia remained undefeated in Rio as they topped Sweden by a score of 29-24.
