Should we send out a Crying Jordan to McKayla Is Not Impressed now that Phelps Face has taken over? The Internet is always looking for the next great facial expression to meme and Michael Phelps delivered that. As it turns out, the most prolific Olympic swimmer delivers gold in memes and medals. Just like always with these things, though, Phelps Face has gotten out of control.

While some people might be tired already of seeing the meme on Twitter and Facebook, that’s to be expected. Internet users beat memes into the ground regularly. However, someone took Phelps Face to the next level by actually getting body art inspired by the meme. Of course, when I say that the tattoo was inspired by it, I actually mean that this person got the damn meme tattooed on their body.

In all it’s shaking-of-your-head inducing glory, here’s the Phelps Face tattoo that never needed to happen:

Oh to have been a fly on the wall for this conversation with the tattoo artist. Surely it ended with the customer saying “I actually don’t care about swimming, I just really like memes.” No one should like memes this much.

And while we’re critiquing the idea of getting this tattooed on your body, how are you just going to get the face tattooed? Why would you not either get your one “When you…” message tattooed along with it? This feels like a missed opportunity among a whole body art debacle.
