Chiefs’ Cairo Santos kicks 58-yard field goal (Video)

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos kicked a 58-yard field goal during the team’s first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Kansas City Chiefs have their special teams down pat. With two killer specialists that punt and kick field goal for the Chiefs, Kansas City knows they have reliability in that phase of the game. In the first preseason game on Saturday, the Chiefs saw just how good the kicking department is. As the Chiefs’ drive stalled just in Seattle territory, the team decided to send out kicker Cairo Santos for a 58-yard field goal.

While that’s an arduous task for most kickers in the NFL, it was of no issue to Santos, who put the field goal straight through the uprights. The Chiefs went crazy over their kicker’s big leg and the fans did as well. There was never any doubt about the kick from the beginning.

Ever since he joined the team, Santos has become one of the best in the NFL at kicking the football. He has the strength to kick it for distance, but he also has the accuracy to make long field goals as well. This latest one proved that in some climates he might be able to kick even longer.

Having a reliable kicker in the NFL is an absolute must and the Chiefs have one. When it comes to January, having a guy like Santos could be the difference between a win and a loss.
