DeMarco Murray torches Chargers for 71-yard TD (Video)
By John Buhler
Tennessee Titans’ DeMarco Murray is out to prove his down 2015 was a fluke, as he is seen torching the San Diego Chargers’ defense for a 71-yard touchdown.
2015 was a year that former All-Pro running back DeMarco Murray would like to forget about. After leading the NFL in rushing with the 2014 Dallas Cowboys, he signed a multi-year deal with the Cowboys’ NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 NFL free agency.
Murray stunk in Chip Kelly’s up-tempo offense and is now with a new team in 2016. He joins Marcus Mariota in Nashville as the featured back of the Tennessee Titans. Murray is in a season that he has to prove his doubters wrong. In his first preseason game with Tennessee, Murray is seen torching an atrocious San Diego Chargers defense for a 71-yard pay dirt.
On a third and one just inside of their own 30-yard line, Tennessee down 7-3 to San Diego calls Murray’s number on what looks like a cutback run to the right side. Tennessee does a phenomenal job of giving Murray ample space to run through on the right side.

He was across the 50-yard line almost instantaneously. After shaking one Charger tackler deep in their own end of the field, Murray scampers into the end zone for the 71-yard touchdown run just inside of one minute left in the first quarter. Nissan Stadium went nuts and should Murray return to 2014 form with the 2016 Titans, Tennessee might be the most improved team in the NFL this season.
