When is the last time that the Rams played in Los Angeles?
A special event will be occurring on August 13, 2016. For the first time since the 1994 NFL season, the Rams will be returning to the city of Los Angeles. It’s just a preseason game but it is a huge deal. Back in 1994, nobody thought that an NFL team would be in Los Angeles in 2016. But here we are.
The last regular season game that they played in Los Angeles was on December 24, 1994. They lost to the Washington Redskins 24-21. The Rams touchdowns were scored by Anthony Newman, Todd Kinchen, and Jermaine Ross. Meanwhile, the Redskins got touchdowns from Reggie Brooks, Brian Mitchell, and James Jenkins. Los Angeles fell to 4-12 while the Redskins improved to 3-13.

Some notable players on Los Angeles at the time include quarterback Chris Miller and future Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis.
After the 1994 season, the team moved to St. Louis. While in St. Louis, they found success quickly thanks to quarterback Kurt Warner, running back Marshall Faulk, and wide receiver Isaac Bruce. They were often referred to as the “Greatest Show On Turf”. St. Louis won one Super Bowl and appeared in another, losing to the New England Patriots. They famously won their Super Bowl after Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson was tackled one yard short of the end zone.
Los Angeles’ new football team will be led by Todd Gurley. He is one of the best running backs in the NFL. First overall pick Jared Goff should help as well. Tight end Jared Cook will look to improve after a disappointing 2015 season. Cornerback Trumaine Johnson and defensive tackle Aaron Donald should help lead their defense. For the first time since 1994, there will be an NFL football game being played in the city of Los Angeles. That’s pretty cool.
