The latest information on when Team USA swimmer Michael Phelps will compete again at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.
When it comes to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Michael Phelps has been a superstar for the United States. As of this report, Phelps has racked up a total of five medals to add to the USA’s nation-leading total in Brazil. Many spectators are wondering about when the next chance they’ll get to see Phelps compete.
On Saturday night, Phelps will get into the pool for one final Olympics swim. The competition will be the 4x100m medley relay. During this event, Phelps will look to add another medal to his impressive resume as one of the top Olympic athletes in the history of swimming, the United States, and maybe the competition as a whole.
Heading into this final swim for Phelps, he has won four gold medals and one silver at the Summer Games. Just last night, Phelps was part of a three-way tie for the silver medal in the 100m butterfly event. Prior to the start of Rio’s Olympics, the United States swimmer already had 22 medals to his name, and now adds at least five more, with a sixth possible Saturday night.
The Olympic men’s swimming 4x100m medley relay event is scheduled for just after 10 p.m. Eastern Time from the Olympic Aquatics Stadium in Rio. Viewers will be able to catch all the action on NBC for television or via the NBCOlympics.com website and associated mobile apps for live streaming.

According to the NY Times, Phelps would be tied with Ethiopia at 39th all-time in gold medals won at the Olympics. It’s certainly been an impressive Olympics swimming career for Phelps and getting this final swim in Rio for the Summer Games will be an event that shouldn’t be missed.
