Just one game into the Premier League season, Arsenal fans were already calling for Arsene Wenger to get fired.
New season, same old Arsenal. After a transfer window which saw Arsene Wenger fail to address areas of concern while players got hurt, Arsenal fans should’ve expected much of the same. Instead, they had the same false hope that they always have coming in.
Arsenal got off to a good start when Theo Walcott gave them the lead, but Liverpool started the second half with four goals in quick succession. The Emirates faithful showered the team with boos, while the fans on Twitter already got #WengerOut trending:

Can we go back to 30 minutes ago. I was so happy. Now I just need a drink. #Arsenal

I'll take 10th, out of CL in group stages and out of FA and league cups in 3rd round if it means he's gone at the end of the season #Arsenal

So #Arsenal needs a 1st game beat down to know they need better players? 🤔🤔😂😂

So how come most Super Sport commentators during the break were saying #Arsenal would whoop #Liverpool's ***?

Give credit to Arsenal for fighting back from there, but they didn’t deserve to win this match, or even draw.
Next: 5 Fantasy Premier League players to avoid
Arsenal always get mocked for finishing in fourth place and making the Champions League, but clearly, their fans aren’t okay with it. And even though this was one of their busier transfer windows in a while, they bought Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi while their rivals got Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. At the same time, they must be secretly hoping for matches like this so that the front office can finally make a change.
When Jamie Vardy rejected a bid by Arsenal, he must have realized that things wouldn’t change. Same goes for Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Lacazette. Wenger isn’t as bad a manager as Twitter makes him out to be, but he has to be able to adapt, or else he’ll have to face the music.
