Live stream info and how to watch the five medal matches in Olympics tennis on Sunday, August 14 from Rio 2016 online
After dozens of fantastic matches, countless upsets, and fantastic tournaments, Olympics tennis comes to an end on Sunday, August 14. As it comes to an end, that obviously means there are going to be medals galore on the line. Specifically, five medal matches will take place on Day 9 from the 2016 Rio Olympics. Fans won’t want to miss a single point in any of the matches given some of the names and matchups set to take place.
Two doubles matches will start the day off at 11:00 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. On Centre Court, Russia’s Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina face Timea Bacsinszky and Martina Hingis (yes, that one) of Switzerland in the Women’s Doubles gold medal match. At the same time on Court 1, the Mixed Doubles bronze medal match will transpire. That match will feature Lucie Hradecka and Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic across the net from Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna of India.
The next match scheduled will also be on Court 1 at 1:30 p.m. ET, the Men’s Singles bronze medal match. Some guy named Rafael Nadal will be in that match representing Spain and he’ll face Kei Nishikori of Japan for the Bronze. On Centre Court at 2:00 p.m. ET, the Mixed Doubles gold medal match will go down. Four Americans will be competing in this match as the team of Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jack Sock serve it up against Venus Williams and Rajeev Ram in what should be a fun one.
As expected, the final match of the day will go on Centre Court at 3:30 p.m. ET with the Men’s Singles gold medal match. Great Britain’s Andy Murray will look to win back-to-back golds in the Olympics, but will have to take down Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro to do so. This match should be a fittingly great end to a wonderful Olympics tennis competition in Rio.
