Olympics Women’s Basketball: Senegal vs Serbia
Group A in Olympics women’s basketball finished up their preliminary round games on Saturday. Now Group B will follow their lead as they’ll play three games throughout Sunday, August 14. With Team USA in action, many fans will be following there. However, one matchup that you probably should be watching for some potential drama is Senegal vs Serbia.
Both Senegal and Serbia are currently sitting outside of the top four in Group B, meaning they wouldn’t advance to the elimination rounds. However, a win for either team on Sunday could put them in at least position to have a chance to advance. Consequently, there is going to be plenty of emotion coming from both squads in this matchup.
Serbia will be looking for their second consecutive win at the Rio Olympics after losing their first three in the preliminary round. However, they seem to have found a ton of confidence after playing Team USA closer than anyone else has. That led to their lone win, but they’ll be hoping it carries and that they can parlay it into yet another victory.
On the other bench, Senegal have yet to earn a win at Rio 2016. What’s worse is that the Senegal women have been on the wrong ends of some major blowouts. In fact, their 10-point loss to Canada is their smallest margin of loss from the preliminary round. One win changes that, though, and leaves them in contention for fourth. All they must do is put everything together for Sunday.
