Muhammad Ali’s grandson has committed to Cal to play football.

While college football is set to begin in 2016, it’s never too early to look ahead to future recruiting class. The battle for talent in the Pac-12 has increased over recent years, as the competition in the program has gotten better on a national level. One player that was targeted in the Pac-12 conference was Biaggio Ali Walsh. He is the grandson of the late, legendary Muhammad Ali.

The 17-year-old running back has put up unbelievable rushing stats in high school and had multiple schools after him. Well it looks like he has decided where he is going to play next. He announced on his Twitter that he was committing to play football for Cal in 2017.

It’s a big recruit for Cal to land and he should provide further depth at the running back spot going forward for the team. He’s going to be a popular guy immediately by being the grandson of the greatest ever to step into a boxing ring.

The Golden Bears are looking to break up the battle back and forth between Stanford and Oregon in the Pac-12 North. After a strong year last year, it will be interesting to see how things progress going forward.
