On Tuesday night, it was reported that Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was taken from the team practice to a local hospital to get checked out.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was reportedly feeling sick and experiencing stomach pain shortly after arriving at the team practice on Tuesday night in San Diego. After on-site medical personnel evaluated his condition, they determined it was best for Arians to head to a local hospital for further evaluation.

A tweet from Arizona Cardinals VP of Media Relations Mark Dalton gave all of the latest information out on Twitter Tuesday evening. Another Twitter post from Mark Willard of Fox Sports showed a quick video clip of the ambulance transporting Arians off the practice site.

According to AZ Central, the Tuesday night event was supposed to be a joint practice session involving the Cardinals and the San Diego Chargers. The two teams huddled with Chargers head coach Mike McCoy ahead of the practice. Afterward, the Cardinals players split from the huddle to meet with their team assistant head coach Tom Moore.

Arians is currently 63 years old and hasn’t had any major health problems in recent times. He became the head coach for Arizona back in 2013. Prior to that, he was offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts and missed a 2012 playoff game due to an inner ear infection.

The outspoken and brash head coach recently made headlines when he cussed out his tight end Troy Niklas. Arians reportedly got the TE’s “name confused with dumb mother(expletive) a lot.” Niklas seemed to be happy that he’d been receiving praise from his head coach for a good training camp recently.

With that in mind, it’s most likely that all of Arians’ players have a deep respect for their head coach, who has them primed to contend for the Super Bowl again this season. Arians is most likely on all of the players’ minds as they try to focus on tonight’s practice, so it’s hoped that he will be back on the field soon in good health.
