The new trailer for FIFA 17 will make you think twice about criticizing soccer video games.
The EA Sports FIFA games always get criticized for looking the same every year. And while that may be true, that doesn’t make them any less fun to play.
Besides, they’re always adding new features to the game, and this year’s is the inclusion of Premier League managers. There’s no better feeling than scoring the goal that will send Jurgen Klopp, Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte into a sideline tantrum.
But with FIFA 17’s new trailer, fans have their first true glimpse at what the gameplay will look like, and needless to say, it looks stunning:
The rosters are updated, and the players look as true to life as possible. That includes giving Lionel Messi the blonde makeover that everyone has been talking about all summer.
But perhaps the best part of the trailer is the song, a remix of the popular sports anthem “Song 2” by Blur. The soundtrack is an integral part of the FIFA video games, and it really helps enhance the experience. Madeon is behind the remix and has been on the FIFA soundtrack before, so if this song is on there, it just makes the game that much better.

Needless to say, there aren’t many faults you can find in this trailer or the game. Then again, that was the case with No Man’s Sky and look at how that turned out. There are likely to be some people who will nitpick this game during its initial launch, but for now, anyone who plays FIFA regularly will be feeling just like Fry right now.
