Gamescom 2016: New Gears of War 4 gameplay (Video)

We got a brand-new look at Gears of War 4, but this time, it’s in glorious 4K resolution, which is running on a Windows 10 PC.

One of the most popular third-person shooters in video game history, the Gears of War series has been around for years and it’s an absolute fan favorite. When the first game came out in November of 2006, it was met with critical acclaim by gamers everywhere. In fact, it was so fun, it convinced some people to buy an Xbox. It also spawned three sequels, which were all critically well-received as well.

We got a taste of Gears of War 4 earlier this year with the multiplayer beta, so we know for sure that the developers are hard at work, listening to the fans’ feedback and making any changes necessary to improve the overall quality of the game. This is evident when you look at recent gameplay for the game. On Tuesday, a new gameplay video was released, showcasing the game running on Windows 10 PC’s at 4K resolution. Gears of War has never looked better.

Not only do we know that the multiplayer is great and the game looks visually beautiful, but we can also expect a great campaign experience, like the previous games. Returning with online co-op, players will be able to party up with up to four players to complete the campaign, which is great. The very popular Horde mode will also be making its return to the series.

But, by far, the most anticipated feature is the cross-play feature. For the first time ever, gamers on the Xbox One will be able to play with those on Windows 10 PC’s, which is absolutely incredible. There’s no doubt that Gears of War 4 will reach an even wider audience now that it’s on two gaming platforms and most importantly, those two gaming platforms will be able to play with or against each other.

Stay tuned to Gamescom 2016 for more information on Gears of War 4 and get ready to play it when it launches on October 11, 2016.
