NBA superstar LeBron James recently extended a nice gesture by helping to bring 5,000 children and their families on a paid trip to an amusement park.

With a brand new championship ring and highest-paying NBA contract of all players, LeBron James is spreading the wealth and positive vibes. He recently gave back to the state that helped produce him by helping to bring 5,000 kids and their families to an amusement park in Ohio.

On Tuesday, TMZ reported that LeBron footed the bill for the children and their families to go with him to the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. The annual event, co-sponsored by Chase Bank, is part of LeBron’s “I Promise” program, where Akron kids are encouraged to focus on their education prior to college. The program offers a free college education afterwards.

The opportunity to go on the amusement park trip is one thing, but the event also offers a sit-down meeting with none other than King James. That’s something most area children would love to have, let alone a free trip to an amusement park.

As noted, the trip was not only paid for by James, but also Chase Bank. Just recently, the King put a lot of dollars in his own bank account after inking the single highest contract in the NBA to date. James is now making $100 million over three years with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He and the Cavs recently won an NBA Championship, beating the Golden State Warriors in seven games.

For LeBron, his basketball talents allowed him to bypass college and go straight to the pros where he now makes the big bucks. With his lucrative new contract and endorsement deals, he now has the ability to help other kids find their talents in school. One has to admire his positive attitude in wanting to help encourage others to pursue better things.
