Live stream info and how to watch the duets free routine final in Olympics synchronized swimming from Rio 2016 online

It was a dominant day in the Olympics synchronized swimming duets technical routine by Russian’s Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina. After winning gold at the last games and earning the title of world champions, they are putting themselves in position to walk away from Rio with more hardware.

Ishchenko and Romashina’s “gypsy dancer” earned them 96.4577 points in Monday’s duet technical routine. Their lead moved from two points to 3.0889, inching themselves closer to victory.

Sunday and Monday’s scores were combined to determine who moved on to the finals Tuesday. Sunday’s competition was the free preliminaries, with Monday’s being duet technical, of course.

Monday’s scores will be combined with Tuesday’s free routine scores to determine who medals.

China — who is in second behind Russia — scored 95.3688 points on Monday. The routine China performed was called “Run Boy Run!” Spain’s “the water in all shapes” netted them 92.5024 points.

Here was a Twitter highlight from the day:

If that doesn’t get you interested in synchronized swimming, I don’t know what will.

With medals being on the line on Tuesday, the competition will surely be tough. China is not far behind and wants to end the reign of Ishchenko, Romashina and all of Russia. If they have a good day, China could sneak in and take the gold.

Tuesday is also the last day for duet events, so be sure to check in if that is of interest to you. Then, team events take over.
