Live stream info and how to watch the Olympics women’s field hockey semifinals online at Rio 2016 on Wednesday, August 17

Everything has been going bananas in the 2016 Rio Olympics women’s field hockey essentially from the first day of the competition. However, it’s about to get even more crazy now that medals are involved. We’ve reached the Olympics women’s field hockey semifinals and the two matchups to determine who will play for the gold medal will go down on Wednesday throughout the day.

The first matchup in the semifinals will feature Netherlands vs Germany. First off, Netherlands has been great throughout this competition and tournament. They started off by winning Group A and then showed spirited effort to get past Argentina in the quarterfinals. However, Germany is coming off of a huge win over the United States and is the lowest seeded team remaining in the tournament. Could they ride a sort of Cinderella run to the gold medal match? They’ll have to be playing their A-game if that’s the plan.

In the second semifinal matchup, we’ll see New Zealand and Great Britain face off. New Zealand have been the most dominant team in the competition from Rio to this point. They dispatched their rivals in Australia in the quarters after rolling to 15 points in the group stage. Now they can see the top of the podium and only need two more wins to get there.
