Live stream info and how to watch Round 1 of the Olympics women’s golf tournament online from Rio 2016 on Wednesday, August 17
As was the case with the men’s tournament that took place over last weekend, Olympics women’s golf returns to the Games for the first time in over a century at Rio 2016. It’s been a long-time coming for one of the most popular sports in the world to return and now that time has arrived. The action will finally get underway starting early in the morning on Wednesday, August 17 with Round 1 as the coverage starts at 6:30 a.m. ET from the Olympic Golf Course.
It’s unsurprising that many of the biggest names in the world of women’s golf will be competing in the tournament from Rio starting on Wednesday. And while golf is a fickle game where anyone can string together the best four rounds of their life on any given day, there are certainly plenty of favorites there that could make serious noise in terms of medal contention.
From Team USA, the golfer to watch is undoubtedly Lexi Thompson. She’s obviously quite accomplished in her pro career, so seeing how she fares at the Games will be curious. Canada also has a player to watch in Brooke Henderson, one of the most dominant forces in the sport when she’s on her game. With these two and the likes of Lydia Ko and many others lurking, there won’t be room to miss any of the action starting with Round 1.
