Brazilian judge orders Ryan Lochte’s passport held
Ryan Lochte has made it back to United States soil but has been ordered by a Brazilian judge to hand over his passport to help the investigation.
Another strange twist has taken place in the Ryan Lochte investigation. If you’re not sure what happened to the gold medal-winning United States swimmer, he was reportedly robbed at gunpoint this past weekend by men disguised as Brazilian police officers. Lochte and fellow swimmers Jimmy Feigen, Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz claimed they were held at gunpoint in a taxi after heading home from a party. Their wallets were taken from them by what they claimed to be men impersonating police officers.
Judge Keyla Blank of Brazil ordered the seizure of both Feigen and Lochte’s passports on Wednesday, according to a report from NBCOlympics.com.This move by the judge makes it seem like the Brazilian officials don’t believe Lochte’s story and there has also been very little evidence to support their account. It’s also strange timing since Lochte reportedly landed in the United States on Tuesday.
According to NBCOlympics.com, Steve Lochte, the father of Ryan, believes the officials are falsely accusing his son of lying about the story.
"“Why would anybody fabricate anything?” Steve Lochte said. “It’s just ridiculous.”"
Apparently a police official close to the investigation says there is very little evidence and they cannot find witnesses to support the swimmers’ claim.

This story gets more bizarre by the minute, but I doubt world-class athletes would lie about being robbed at gunpoint and having their wallets stolen. Although, Lochte’s nonchalant attitude toward the matter was a little eye-opening.
