New Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild footage highlights cooking, woodcutting

Once again, Nintendo isn’t making the wait for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild much easier. They went ahead and dropped another clip of gameplay, which features… cooking and woodcutting.

With its third gameplay clip in less than two weeks, Nintendo has dropped yet another look at the forthcomingThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. To think we have to wait at least another year until the game comes out is extremely heart breaking. What we do know, however, is that what’s in store for Zelda fans could be something truly special.

These gameplay clips don’t show much, most of them being 40 seconds or less. Still, the idea behind these clips is to show little details and elements of the game — teasers for the big payoff we expect will come. First we got a glimpse at the brand-new Temple of Time, which is confirmed to return in the next entry. Next, we found out that the Koroks from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will also be making return cameos.

Which all sounds wonderful. Unfortunate, the latest gameplay clip focuses mostly on… Cooking? Woodcutting? Is this a video game, or a reenactment at Colonial Williamsburg?

In the above clip, we get to behold just how gorgeous the land of Hyrule is looking with the new graphics and aesthetics — which is awesome. We also see Link visiting the Woodcutter’s house to receive an axe, which we can only assume will come in handy throughout his (read: your) journey. Prior to entering the house, you see Link preparing a batch of food in a pot over a fireplace. Once it’s cooked and ready to go, you have officially made an Enduring Mushroom Skewer. Insert your clever jokes here.

Right after that, the footage skips to Link cutting down a tree, which will be used as a bridge to walk across a gap in the land.

Don’t be surprised if Nintendo drops another clip of gameplay for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game is scheduled for release sometime in 2017, both on the Nintendo Wii U and the NX.
