Live stream information and how to watch the Olympics men’s water polo semifinals online and on television on August 18.

The Olympics men’s water polo semifinals take place on Thursday with Montenegro playing Croatia and Italy playing Serbia to determine which team plays for gold on Saturday. The United States played undefeated Italy on Sunday and won 10-7, but after a rough start and multiple losses in the preliminaries, their win was not enough to earn a place in the quarterfinals. Team USA finished its run in 5th place in Group B while Italy’s loss pushed them to a third place finish in Group B and a place in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Going into Sunday’s matches, Hungary, Greece and Brazil were atop the leader board for Group A, while Croatia, Spain and Italy were in a three way tie for first place with six points each. After Sunday, Hungary and Spain remain the only teams with perfect scores of 7. Japan is still at the bottom of Group A with zero points, while France is at the bottom of Group B. France edged Croatia on Sunday 9-8, which gets them on the board for the first time in the preliminaries.

Team USA notched its first win in the men’s Olympics water polo tournament on August 10th, beating France 6-3. The United States played a dominant match, leading the entire game. With less than five minutes to play in the fourth quarter, France was able to score a point to narrow the lead to 2, but the United States responded with another goal to finish the match 6-3.
