Live stream info and how to watch the Olympics boxing medal bouts online from Rio 2016 on Thursday, August 18

After a long road already at the 2016 Rio Olympics in one of the most grueling competitions held at the Games, the Olympics boxing tournaments are coming to a close. Entering Day 13, there are now only semifinal and final bouts remaining. And on Thursday, August 18, there will be plenty of those on display throughout the day that fans won’t want to miss out on.

Two Women’s Flyweight semifinal bouts will start off the day with the first fight at 1 p.m. ET. Great Britain’s Nicola Adams will be fighting Cancan Ren of China. The Brits would certainly love to get a medal in this division and Adams is more than capable. Following that fight at 1:15 will be the other semifinal in the division featuring Ingrit Lorena Valencia Victoria of Colombia going against Sarah Ourahmoune of France. Valencia Victoria has been fantastic in the ring in Rio to this point, but will want to avoid a misstep this close to gold.

A pair of Men’s Bantamweight semifinals will occupy the ring next, starting with one of the few Americans still remaining. Shakur Stevenson of Team USA will be in a war with Vladimir Nikitin of Russia in what should be a heavy-hitting affair. The winner of that bout will move on to the gold medal match later in the week against the winner of Robeisy Ramirez of Cuba and Murodjon Akhmadaliev of Uzbekistan.

Capping off the semifinals for the day will be the Men’s Middleweight division. Arlen Lopez of Cuba looks to defend a long legacy of great boxers from his country against the heavy-handed Kamran Shakhsuvarly of Azerbaijan. Meanwhile Misael Uziel Rodriguez has gold in mind in the other semifinal, but will have to get through Uzbekistan’s Bektemir Melikuziev if he wants to be atop the podium in Middleweight.

Finally, the main event of the day in Olympics boxing will be the Men’s Light Heavyweight final bout with the gold medal on the line. Julio Cesar la Cruz has been a joy to watch out of Cuba in this tournament. However, his opponent in Adilbek Niyazymbetov hits like a freight train and can really lay the hurting. They’ll both leave it all in the ring, though, in trying to grab the gold in their division.
