Round 3 in the 2016 Rio Olympics women’s golf tournament is slated for Friday, as the women look for the first women’s golf Olympic gold since 1900.

The 2016 Rio Olympics are the first Olympics to have women’s golf since 1900, when American Margaret Abbott won the gold. Now, 116 years later, the best women golfers in the world have descended on Rio, and the competition has been superb. There was plenty of movement during Round 2 on Thursday, and Round 3 is expected to feature more of the same.

After two rounds, South Korea’s Inbee Park is in sole possession of first place. Park has carded back-to-back 5-under 66 rounds, and is in the driver’s seat headed into Round 3. She is one of the best young golfers in the world, and is playing the most consistent golf in Rio.

Right behind Park is American Stacy Lewis, who went really low on Thursday. Lewis shot a tournament-best 8-under 63, moving up 17 spots on the leaderboard. Lewis was once considered the best women’s golfer in the world, and she is showing why in Rio.

Canada’s Brooke Henderson also had an incredible round on Thursday. Henderson came close to tying Lewis’ round of 63, falling one stroke short. She is tied with Great Britain’s Charley Hull for third place heading into Round 3.

After the first round, Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn was the clubhouse leader. She shot a 6-under-65 on Wednesday, but came back to earth on Thursday. Jutanugarn was even par on Thursday, and will need to have a strong day on Friday to stay in contention.

World No. 1 Lydia Ko of New Zealand has played well in Rio, just not good enough to be at the top of the leaderboard. Still, she is within striking distance with two rounds to go, and should make a move on Friday.
