Live stream info and how to watch Olympics women’s freestyle wrestling online on August 18.
In the first day of women’s wrestling at the Olympics, Japan asserted their authority as the dominant force. In the three tournaments on display, they won gold in all three of them, with Kaori Icho’s fourth consecutive gold medal standing out above the rest.
It’s been an extremely fascinating tournament to watch, but for Americans, it’s been frustrating. Through four days, there hasn’t been a medal won for the States, but that could very well change. In the four times that women’s wrestling has been at the Olympics, no American has finished higher than Sara McMann’s silver medal at Athens. But there’s a strong contingent of female wrestlers at Rio, headlined by Adeline Gray.
Gray has won the World Wrestling Championships the past two years, and is expected to at least get to the podium. Same goes for Helen Maroulis, who isn’t as experienced as Gray, but is also coming off a Gold medal finish in 2015.
