As the release of Star Wars Battlefront’s Death Star DLC draws near, EA has announced more details about exactly what that DLC will contain.

Star Wars Battlefront’s highly anticipated Death Star expansion pack was exhibited at gamescom this week with a focus on the ambitious new game mode that will come with the DLC.

Battle Station is unlike any other game mode currently in Battlefront. It will be split into three different phases.

The first phase is an aerial battle in space pitting X-wings and A-wings against TIE fighters and TIE interceptors. As explained by EA, “The main objective in this phase is for Rebels to destroy enough TIE fighters until their Y-wing support can come in to weaken the Star Destroyer’s defenses.” As Rebel forces attack the Star Destroyer, both players and AI ships will fight to defend it on the side of the Empire.

Phase two will be a battle inside the Death Star itself between the ground troops, with options to be the expansion pack’s newest heroes, Chewbacca and Bossk, another bounty hunter from the movies. The Rebel objective in this phase is to extract a droid from within the Death Star.

The last phase will take everyone back into space for the ultimate finale. Players will have the chance to live out the iconic scene from the movie where Luke Skywalker attempts to blow up the Death Star in his X-wing. You will have the chance to actually play as Luke in his ship or play as Darth Vader attempting to stop the young Jedi.

Next: New offline mode, events, and heroes come for Battlefront

Outside of the new battle mode and heroes, the Death Star DLC will also come with more blasters and Star Cards. It is set to release next month.
