Kansas

Kansas’ Mount Rushmore is led by center Wilt Chamberlain. Chamberlain was a pioneer for big men in basketball. He was a virtually unstoppable force while he starred for the Kansas Jayhawks. Chamberlain was a two-time first-team All-American and was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player despite his team losing in the finals. He is most famous for scoring 100 points in an NBA game. Chamberlain also starred on the track team at Kansas.

Phog Allen was a legendary head coach of the University of Kansas Jayhawks. Not only was he incredibly successful, he helped form the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches). He finished with 590 wins in 38 seasons with the Jayhawks.

Running back Gale Sayers is best known for his time with the Chicago Bears, but he played college football for the University of Kansas. Sayers was named a first-team All-American twice and finished his college career with 3,917 all purpose yards.

Bill Snyder brought Kansas State football back from the dead with an impressive turnaround. And he did it twice. After leaving the school following controversy in 2005, he returned in 2009 to once again helped Kansas State rise from the ashes. He has won 193 games with Kansas State.
