Colorado

Colorado’s Mount Rushmore starts with the man responsible for each of the Denver Broncos’ three Super Bowl titles: John Elway. Elway won two Super Bowls as the Broncos’ quarterback and helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 as the leader of their front office. He was instrumental in recruiting Peyton Manning to come to Denver and even built a team capable of winning a playoff game with Tim Tebow as its starting quarterback. That’s pretty impressive.

Todd Helton deserves a spot as well. He is by a pretty significant margin the best Colorado Rockies player of all time. He is the franchise leader in most offensive categories. Helton finished his career with over 2,500 hits and 350 home runs. He is the only player in history with at least 35 doubles in 10 consecutive seasons.

Joe Sakic is directly responsible for making hockey cool in Colorado. He spent all of his 13 season-career with the Colorado Avalanche and led the team to two Stanley Cups. Though they couldn’t have won without Patrick Roy, Sakic was the leader. He is now in charge of the Avalanche’s front office.

The final spot on Colorado’s Mount Rushmore goes to Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis. Davis was as important as Elway in the Broncos’ two Super Bowl wins in the 1990’s. His career was sadly short. But his influence is unquestioned.
