Usain Bolt won Gold in the 200m to remain perfect in individual Olympic events.
With 2016 being Usain Bolt’s last Olympics and Andre deGrasse’s first, they have gotten to know and respect each other very well. Bolt knows that deGrasse will eventually be his successor when he retires, but as long as he’s around, he’s not ready to relinquish his crown.
Before his Olympics started, Bolt said that he wanted to break his world record time at the 200m of 19.19. He didn’t do that, finishing with a time of 19.78, but it put him in rarefied territory. He is now a perfect eight for eight in medal events, and will finish his Olympic career with a spotless record in individual events.

Knowing that this was his last individual race, many people were rooting for Bolt to go out with a Gold medal. And once he did, they all took turns to bow down to the King:

In the history of the Olympics, there have only ever been five men to claim gold medals in both the 100m and 200m. Usain Bolt is one of those men, and he has done it three times. He is one of the two greatest athletes to ever compete in the Summer Olympics, and this generation should be thankful that they got to witness him. This may be the final chapter, but it’s been an exclamation point on an already decorated career.
