More disturbing news coming out of Baylor where a football player was seen on video beating his dog with a belt.

In the latest string of awful news to come out of Baylor, a Bears football player is seen on video abusing his dog with a belt. Ishmael Zamora is seen on a Snapchat video, which was shared on another Baylor player’s Snapchat account, repeatedly striking his dog with a belt.

The video was obtained by News Channel 25 and also sees Zamora kicking, yelling and swearing at the dog. The video was taken in June and Zamora said he was only trying to discipline the dog.

“I lost my temper trying to discipline him,” Zamora said. “I’ve been through training with a dog trainer to help me learn new potty training tips.”

A former Baylor student, Shelby Ball, who saw the video on Snapchat reported the incident to Animal Control and the Baylor Police Department. She said she did this to give the abused dog a voice and she thought something needed to be done and doesn’t buy his escuse for the abuse.

“I can’t imagine anybody who loves their dog and treats their dog well, hitting their dog against the face because they had an accident in the house,” she said.

Zamora was cited for the Class C misdemeanor that could cost him as much as $500. The dog is currently living with a relative in Houston, according to the report.

Many dog owners have experienced frustrations and a lack of patience when it comes to training a puppy. It can be a very challenging task, but at no point, should a person ever abuse an animal in the manner that Zamora did in the video.

It’s disgusting behavior and just the latest example of disgusting behavior coming out of the toxic Baylor football program.
