Olympic modern pentathlon live stream: Watch online – August 19
By John Buhler
Both of the Isaksen sisters will compete for gold for the United States in the Women’s Pentathlon on Friday. Here’s how to watch it online via live stream.
With most of the fencing portion wrapped up on Thursday, Friday afternoon will see the women’s modern pentathlon in full swing with Olympic gold on the line at the end of the day.
Everything kicks off at the Deodoro Aquatics Centre at 12:00 p.m. local time (11:00 a.m. ET) when the swimming events get underway. The United States has a pair of sisters competing for Olympic gold in the modern pentathlon. Isabella Isaksen is in Heat 1 of the swimming portion and her sister Margaux Isaksen will be in Heat 4.
After the six heats of swimming have been completed, there will be a brief fencing bonus stage at Deodoro Stadium. That begins at 2:00 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m. ET). Following the additional fencing part of the modern pentathlon, there will be the women’s ride show jumping stage beginning at 3:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. ET), also at Deodoro Stadium
To conclude the women’s modern pentathlon, the final two events will be run simultaneously in the women’s combined running/shooting at Deodoro Stadium. The final two stages begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. ET).

Can either of the Isaksen sisters do enough to medal in the women’s modern pentathlon on Friday evening? The United States hasn’t normally dominated this unique sport, but with so much of the event on the line on Friday, it could very well happen, seeing either of the Isaksen sisters bring an Olympic medal back stateside.
