New WWE rumors suggest that the Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar match at SummerSlam 2016 may be the main event.
One of the biggest matches for Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2016 is Randy Orton versus Brock Lesnar. Many fans have been speculating that it could be the main event match for the pay-per-view. Just recently, one of the participants may have confirmed that it will be.
A tweet from the Gorilla Position, a UK-based WWE fancast, is claiming “The Viper” has confirmed it. Orton is saying that his match with “The Beast” will be the final bout on the card Sunday.
It is certainly one of the matches that have fans wondering who will win it. Of the matches on the card, it appears it could go either way. Both Orton and Lesnar are returning to the ring. Brock recently had his USADA controversy after a win at UFC 200. However, WWE did not suspend him for any violations.

Orton is making his return to the ring following injury. That said, it seems both stars are key players going forward. They were each drafted to separate TV shows and both could use a win. WWE has continued to build Lesnar as the most dominant guy on their entire roster.
So will the WWE rumors pan out? Leading up to this Sunday’s pay-per-view, many fans may have expected a different match would headline the show. Of all the matches on the card, it almost seems Finn Balor battling Seth Rollins should be the grand finale. It will feature two amazing in-ring performers in a match that will decide a brand new title. The WWE Universal Championship will be awarded to either Balor or Rollins.

However, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar are both immensely popular superstars and are competing in a sort of “brand versus brand” match. The winner of this match could give bragging rights to the TV show he currently appears on. Quite possibly, WWE has some sort of surprise in store involving the finish that just needs to close out the show.
