Olympic taekwondo live stream: Watch online – August 20
By John Buhler
Saturday will be the final day of Olympic taekwondo action at Rio de Janeiro. Here’s how to watch the Men’s and Women’s Heavyweight tournaments online.
The United States will have its last two competitors in Olympic taekwondo coming in the final day of the event’s competition. Saturday, August 20th will be the day slated for the Men’s and Women’s Heavyweight tournaments.
Representing the Men in the 80+ kilogram weight class is 28-year-old Stephen Lambdin. Though he is ranked No. 10 in the world in his weight class, Lamdbin might have a difficult time cutting through the Men’s Heavyweight hierarchy, as he is only a No. 13 seed in the 16-man tournament. Then again, upsets have been prevalent through the Olympic taekwondo competitions, so really anything is possible.
America’s best chance to earn an Olympic medal on Sunday comes in the form of Jackie Galloway. She enters the her group’s tournament as the No. 4 seed. This helps her tremendously in the tournament, as the top four performers earn medals in Olympic taekwondo thanks to repêchage. Should Galloway do what is expected of her, she could bring a bronze medal home to America in the 67+ kilogram weight class.
Though Olympic taekwondo will run throughout the day on Saturday from Carioca Arena 3, it is in one’s best interest to make use to the available NBCOlympics.com live stream, as the day’s events won’t be shown until late in the night on American network television.
USA will carry Olympic taekwondo starting at 10:00 PM ET. This means that USA will have live coverage of the Men’s and Women’s Heavyweight Finals at the very least. USA will air Olympic taekwondo in conjunction with the finals in the Men’s Modern Pentathlon until 12:00 AM ET Sunday morning.
