Texas A&M Aggies linebacker Josh Walker was suspended indefinitely after he was arrested on domestic violence charges.
Josh Walker has been suspended indefinitely after the Texas A&M linebacker was arrested on Friday. Walker was arrested and charged with assault with bodily injury to a family member and interfering with an emergency request for assistance, according to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, via ESPN.
The assault victim wasn’t revealed by the sheriff’s department but according to Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle, the victim was Walker’s girlfriend. According to Zwerneman, Walker pushed his girlfriend down who hit a rocking chair and caused bruising and a pretty good knot on her lip.

Texas A&M suspended Walker indefinitely and his future with the team may be in severe jeopardy. Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin may choose to rid the roster of his presence as he looks to enter a crucial 2016 season with as few distractions as possible.
Carrying Walker on the roster would be a distraction with media asking when Walker’s suspension would end. Moreover, if he keeps him on the roster, he’ll have to address questions every day about his decision to allow a person arrested on those charges to represent the Texas A&M Aggies.

Walker started five games over the last two years with a season-high five tackles in the season-opening win against Arizona State. The defense has been a weak spot for Sumlin’s teams at Texas A&M but Walker wouldn’t be a significant loss should Sumlin dismiss him.
And I think the right decision is to dismiss him. Sumlin has to send a swift and clear message that violence against women is a zero-tolerance policy.
Do you think Sumlin and Texas A&M should dismiss Walker or do you think he should be given a chance to earn a second chance?
