Ranking 32 NFL head coaches based on presidential potential
2. Pete Carroll – Seattle Seahawks
Pete Carroll has undoubtedly been one of the chief driving forces behind the success of the Seattle Seahawks in recent years. Yes, being able to get a star quarterback in Russell Wilson in the third round and finding hidden defensive gems all over the draft has aided that cause considerably. Still, the things Carroll has been able to accomplish in Seattle during his second NFL go-round are indicative of traits needed to be a high-caliber president.
When you look at how Carroll initially set up Wilson in the offense, one of the things everyone lauded was how Carroll and the Seahawks continually brought him outside of the tackles to better improve his vision. While you might write that off as, “Well, yeah, that’s what you have to do when your quarterback’s short,” it’s no less reflective of Carroll’s leadership.
That’s exactly the type of thing that you need from someone sitting in the Oval Office. Presidents in the 21st century have to be fluid and adaptable, molding things in ways that produces more favorable outcomes. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see the presidential aide who has to hold Carroll’s piece of gum before every speech?
