25. Doug Pederson – Philadelphia Eagles

Like so many others on our list, it’s hard to know what to make of Doug Pederson as a NFL coach. Why with his entering his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles after being the offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs under Andy Reid. As such, some similar principles apply when it comes to evaluating Pederson’s presidential makeup — we have to look to the past.

Some might be shocked to see Pederson slotted in ahead of McAdoo. After all, conventional wisdom would dictate that the Giants had a far more explosive offense than Kansas Ciyy, and thus that McAdoo is the superior coordinator. However, you could make the argument that Pederson displayed more presidential qualities in how he managed the offense. To wit, Pederson did more with less, made necessary modifications in the face of crisis (read: losing Jamaal Charles), and generally handled his role with poise and prudence.

While his massive unknowns make it difficult to rate Pederson much higher, he clearly has the potential to take strides forward in the rankings. If he can display an overall grasp of his team and schemes in addition to the positives he showed as Kansas City’s OC, Pederson could be a top-15 coach in these rankings next year.
