Boston Red Sox rookie Andrew Benintendi made one of the best catches that you will see this season on Monday

When you’re a rookie in Major League Baseball, you’re out there on the field every day trying to make the biggest impact that you possibly can. You’re out there trying to show that you have a promising career ahead of you, and it’s pretty safe to say that Boston Red Sox rookie outfielder Andrew Benintendi made quite the impression on Monday night.

The Red Sox were on the road taking on the Tampa Bay Rays, and in the bottom of the eighth inning, it looked as if the Rays were going to get on the board with a home run. However, Benintendi was having absolutely none of that.

He was able to track the ball down to the corner of the wall, and from there, he made what is definitely one of the best catches of the entire season to make sure the Rays did not get on the board late in the game.

Now that is how you show that you could one day be one of the best in the game. Everything about this play from beginning to end was just a thing of beauty. There was no way that he was letting that ball get over the other side of the fence, and he got the job done for the Red Sox on Monday night.

With more plays like this, Benintendi will have the people of Boston pretty excited about watching him grow with one of the more notable teams in all of baseball. This young man is looking to make a name for himself as a member of the Boston Red Sox and he’s doing a pretty good job thus far on that journey.
