The Buffalo Bills are having the worst preseason ever, and on Monday, they may have lost their star running back, LeSean McCoy.
During the 2016 NFL preseason, the Buffalo Bills have had a rough go of it. Between their top defender entering rehab, and their backup running back being cut, the team was hoping for a quiet day at practice on Monday.
That was not the case, and now they may be without their starting running back as well. According to Matthew Fairburn, who is the Buffalo Bills beat writer for newyorkupstate.com, LeSean McCoy left practice with an injury on Monday.
McCoy, who was entering his second season in Buffalo, is not a player the Bills can afford to lose. The team recently cut backup running back Karlos Williams, who played well as a rookie in 2015.
Williams was expected to miss the first four games of the 2016 season due to a suspension for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, and came into camp out of shape. He was never able to catch back up to the players in front of him, and the team let him go on Friday.
In 2015, McCoy rushed for only 895 yards in 12 games for the Bills, his lowest rushing total since 2012. Before coming to Buffalo, McCoy was an absolute workhorse for the Philadelphia Eagles, appearing in 16 games in the two seasons before he left for Buffalo.

McCoy battled the injury bug last year, and the team was hoping they could avoid injuries during the preseason. The regular season is still a two weeks away, but if McCoy is injured, the Bills really head into the season with a huge question mark at the running back position.
The Bills will open up their 2016 regular season on the road against the Baltimore Ravens on September 11.
