Did Sami Zayn suffer an ankle injury on WWE RAW Monday night in a match with Seth Rollins?
WWE RAW started off on Monday night with quite the bittersweet segment. Just 24 hours after he was crowned the first-ever WWE Universal Champion, Finn Balor was forced to relinquish the title due to an injury that he suffered at SummerSlam.
Now, is Sami Zayn the next one that’s going to unfortunately go on the shelf? We don’t know the definitive answer to that question at the moment, but you can take a look for yourself to see whether or not this injury is legit.
There was a series of matches announced on Monday night and the first one that we saw pitted Seth Rollins against Zayn. Well, early on in the match, Zayn came off the ropes and appeared to injure his ankle in the process.
Now of course, with this being professional wrestling, there is a possibility that this is all a work, especially with the story being that Balor was injured in a match with Rollins the night before. They could be turning it into an angle, but we’ll have to wait a little bit to find that out.
But if this is an actual injury, then that would just be devastating for the company and, of course, Zayn. We all remember the shoulder injury that put him on the shelf, so it would just be heart wrenching to see him have to be on that shelf once again.
If the injury does end up being legitimate, then we will update here with all of the details, including how long Zayn may be out of action.
Update: It looks as if the injury was a work after all. Phew.
