15. player. 32. . Head Coach. Arizona Cardinals. Bruce Arians

When you think Virginia Tech football, who comes to mind? Of course legendary coach Frank Beamer and quarterback Michael Vick, but there’s another whose name stands out in the history books. Bruce Arians still holds the record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in one season in VA tech history.

That’s right, Arians had more rushing touchdowns in one season than Michael Vick. How’s that for a stat?

I’d want to have a beer with him just to hear what he thinks about out-rushing Vick. Plus he’s an all around good guy, and a terrific coach. Arians took over as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals after becoming the interim head coach for the Indianapolis Colts when head coach Chuck Pagano was diagnosed with cancer.

Arians did well in Pagano’s absence, putting up a 9-3 record, which he parlayed into the head coaching gig at Arizona. He’s done well there as well, winning at least 10 games in each of his three seasons with the team. Arians has a no-nonsense attitude, but he’s also enough of a character to produce good conversation. A beer with coach Bruce Arians? You better accept that invitation.
