The consequences of Brock Lesnar’s actions at WWE SummerSlam have been handed down by Stephanie McMahon and, wait, that’s it?

Brock Lesnar ended WWE SummerSlam standing tall in a literal sense. However, he didn’t exactly get to that position by the most respectable of means. After leaving Randy Orton in a pool of his own blood with a TKO win, he then hit Shane McMahon with an F-5. As a result, WWE RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon promised there’d be repercussions.

The question that remained, though, is exactly what those consequences would be. Would she suspend The Beast Incarnate. Could she put him in a 100 vs. 1 Handicap Match? Or how about making him be a vegan for a week? All of those would have at least been believably strict punishments. Instead, WWE and Stephanie handed out the most laughable punishment imaginable.

On Tuesday, just before the latest episode of Smackdown LIVE, WWE announced that they’d fined Brock Lesnar $500 for his assault on Orton. No, that number isn’t missing any zeroes. They seriously looked at this and said, yeah, $500 sounds good.

Just to be clear, I’m at least partially sure that Lesnar’s toilet paper is made of $100 bills at this point. He can just walk in the bathroom, rip off five sections, and he’s good to go.

WWE isn’t exactly known for being in-touch with reality all of the time. However, this is the most egregious example of that in quite some time. It’s almost impossible to believe that someone didn’t pipe up and say that $500 was a hysterically small amount of money to fine a superstar like Brock Lesnar.

Hopefully there’s something more to come of this in regards to consequences. If they seriously just roll with this minuscule fine, then why doesn’t Brock just keep doing this every week? Someone needs to give WWE a wake-up call here.
