The Montreal Canadiens took down their old āNo Excusesā banner and Twitter offered the Habs some unique suggestions for a new slogan.Ā
This offseason has seen a series of significant changes for the Montreal Canadiens.Ā They traded star defenseman P.K. Subban to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber and signed Alexander Radulov. Montreal also traded Lars Eller to the Washington Capitals and traded for Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw. Another change will see is a new banner in their locker room. They have removed their āNo Excusesā slogan from their locker room wall.
TSN 690 in MontrealĀ asked Twitter what they should replace the slogan with. As the Cincinnati Zoo can tell you, it is never a good idea to ask the internet what it wants because thatās a great way to attract trolls. The replies to the tweet areĀ fantastic and hilarious. Here are some of the best.
Of course, someone immediately mentioned Harambe. It wouldnāt be the internet if Harambe wasnāt involved, would it?
rip harambe

Other fans used the tweet as an opportunity to respectfully disagree with the departure of Subban.
"SUBBAN FOR WEBER"

Carey Price is Montrealās best player by a fairly significant margin. He served as the inspiration for some solid slogans.
Help us, Carey Price, you're our only hope.
ā Stacy šŗš¦ (@habsgirl7) August 23, 2016
their new sign will say "as long as we have Carey"

Some fans chose to troll the Canadiens about their obsession with players and coaches who speak French.
you can speak any language you want, as long as it's French
ā Zirc (@backwordssirhc) August 23, 2016
It's not the crest on the front of the jersey that counts, it's the French Canadian name on the back

Canadiens fans also threw some shade at Therrien and general manager Marc Bergevin, who arenāt too popular in Montreal thanks to the Subban trade.
I suggest to put "No questions.Therrien's regime"

One person suggested aĀ slogan that all of Canada can agree with.
Hopefully TSN 690 learned their lesson. You almost have to feel bad for whoever runs their Twitter account. But when you ask the internet a silly question, youāre going to get silly answers. With Price back, the Canadiens should contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
