DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for August 24th (7:00 PM Only)
Finding value can be the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail.” Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to provide a handful of players that could provide critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.
I told youse (Philly accent) that Saunders was the bargain play that could go deep! Hopefully you had some exposure to Saunders and the Atlanta stack that I gave out on Twitter. Nevertheless, let’s get into tonight’s slate where I’ll be trying to find more salary relief options. Tonight’s slate features 10 games, none of which standout as the clear-cut favorite to score the most runs. The best projections are owned by, Washington, Toronto, Chicago White Soxs, and Minnesota, all with a projection of 4.8 runs. If you have a hankering for some Jose Fernandez or Yu Darvish tonight, here are my recommended plays to save on salary.
Next: Value Plays

Jurickson Profar – TEX (1B/2B) – $3100
Texas has a solid projection of 4.5 runs and if Profar is leading off, he’ll be a great value play. Profar is a switcher hitter who fares much better against righties than lefties with a .343 wOBA.

Devon Travis – TOR (2B) – $3500
Travis has been dealing with a hand issue, but all signs point to him returning tonight against LA. As mentioned, Toronto has one of the highest projected totals on the slate and Travis could be batting lead off tonight. Travis has reverse splits and holds a .386 wOBA and a .212 ISO against righties.

Adam Eaton – CWS (OF) – $3700
Eaton had a solid game last night with two runs and two hits. We’ll be looking for more of the same tonight as he draws a favorable match up against the righty, Eickhoff.
Tyler Collins – DET (OF) – $2600
It’s the same old story for Tyler Collins. He seemingly always manages to slip through the cracks of DK pricing as he’s only $2600 and facing a righty. He’s an option tonight, if you plan on punting the outfield position.
Hyun-Soo Kim – BAL (OF) – $2900
I don’t love Kim as much as I normally would when he’s facing a righty, but he’s still in play as he holds a .390 wOBA split against righties. Baltimore has a tough match up, but $2900 is very cheap.

Note: Keep in mind that recommended plays are based off of early information and will be subject to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order. Follow me on Twitter @MattMcGarvey215, where I’ll try to update these plays the best I can!
