Changes coming for second weekend of the Titanfall 2 Tech Test

The first weekend of the Titanfall 2 Technical Test was very well received, but there were still some complaints. Here’s what will be patched up and changed for the second weekend of the test.

Most gamers are very excited for Titanfall 2 and after trying out the game for the first time during last weekend’s Technical Test, and it’s very evident that EA and Respawn Entertainment are trying their best to improve on everything that Titanfall was.

For those who played the first game, you’ll be very familiar with the sequel. Titanfall 2 has the traditional Titan vs. Titan gameplay, but for the casual players who weren’t very fond of piloting giant mechs, there’s a brand new Pilots vs. Pilots game mode, which will cater more to your gaming needs if you’re more familiar playing first-person shooters like Call of Duty or Halo.

For the most part, players who tried out the technical test had a lot of fun with the game, but many of them still had their complaints and problem. Well don’t worry. The developers have heard you. In the upcoming second Technical Test, which starts on Friday and will go on until Sunday, there’s a variety of changes coming to the game.

Time To Kill

Many of the complaints stem from how fast players die in Titanfall 2 and most of them have called for the developers to balance that out. Here are a few changes in that aspect.

  • Amped Weapons Boost now unlocks at 80% of the earn meter instead of 50%.
  • Charge Rifles now have damage falloff at cross map distances.
  • Slightly increased cloak visibility for other Pilots.

The developers believe that the abundance of Amped Weapons is a large contributor to lower time to kill. Expect more adjustments to be made to the individual weapons.

Mobility

Mobility is a huge part of the game, and many players felt it also needed some tweaks. Here are the following updates to the movement and mobility for the second weekend.

  • Increased max wall-running speed.
  • Increased base wall-running speed and air speed.
  • Increased acceleration while jumping off walls.
  • Titans dashes recharge two seconds faster.

Another note is that training is unaffected by these changes, ensuring Gauntlet records will remain valid.

Titan Timer

Some minor changes will be made to the Titan timer.

  • Pilots now earn a small amount of Titan meter every five seconds.

Keep in mind that this value may be undertuned until we can take a pass at how much meter you earn from objectives.

Bounty Hunt

Some tweaks will also be coming to Bounty Hunt.

  • Score limit lowered to 5000 from 6000 to increase the amount of games won by score instead of time.
  • Banking phases now last 45 seconds instead of a minute.

Technical Fixes

  • Some issues with the outer dead zone on PlayStation 4 controllers have been resolved.

Unfortunately, if you want to play with friends, you’re going to have to hope and pray that you randomly get paired up in an online match, considering that the “Invite Friends” option is still not working.

Other than that, enjoy the second weekend of the Tech Test. Titanfall 2 officially launches on October 28, 2016.
